Voted #1 Resort in the South Pacific by Travel+Leisure

August 2019 – Turtle Island makes Fiji proud by taking top honours in the 2019 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, winning the #1 spot in the Top Resort Hotels in the South Pacific and ranking #12 among the Top 100 Hotels in the World.

The annual Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, one of the most prestigious in the travel and hospitality industry, is a worldwide survey where discerning travelers hand-pick and rate their travel experiences. This year’s list of Top 100 Hotels in the World reflects 33 countries and all continents except Antarctica.

Travel + Leisure hosted an awards celebration last month to honor the winners from around the globe. World’s Best Awards #1 winners, top travel industry executives, T+L editors and media attended the exclusive cocktail event in New York City on 16th July. Richard Evanson Jr., CEO and son of Turtle Island’s founder, said: “We are honored to be recognised as The Best Resort Hotel in the South Pacific and ranked highly among The Best Hotels in the World. This achievement further reaffirms our commitment to delivering an exceptional and personalised guest experience that is authentic to who we are as a culture and family. It’s wonderful to be celebrated for our continued dedication in making every guest stay a memorable Turtle Island experience and the perfect accolade to lead into our 40th anniversary next year”.

Turtle Island received exceptional rankings on location, facilities, service, quality, dining, and overall value. The iconic private-island property offers all-inclusive stays for couples, who get one of just 14 villas dotting the famous Blue Lagoon. “You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced Turtle Island,” as it was described by a previous guest. Turtle Island is renowned for honoring the Fijian way of life, creating a world community, and preserving the natural environment. With 500 acres of serene forests and 12 pristine private beaches, Turtle Island serves as an idyllic sanctuary for travelers seeking connection, community, culture, and consciousness.
