Last nights closing ceremony marked the end of our week long 35th Anniversary Celebration on Turtle Island. It was a fantastic week filled with special events, and an amazing group of guests to enjoy it. Our closing ceremony was an unforgetable evening filled with laughter, stories, and a even few tears as we said our good-byes to departing guests. Racheli's Escape was the venue for cocktail hour and h'orderves, and the perfect place to welcome new guests and farewell the guests that would be leaving us the next day.

The setting for dinner and the evenings events were magical... twinkling lights danced overhead and fire barrels were lit up along the shoreline. Richard Evanson, owner of Turtle Island, his two sons, and long-term staff members joined guests at the table for this special evening.

"We would like to thank-you to you all for coming, and for being with us for the celebration of our 35th Anniversary" said Richard, "It's because of you, our guests, that we have the opportunity to put together such a special event." After speeches from Richard, Alex (General Manager), and Arthur (Long-term member of staff), dinner was served and the band began to serenade our guests.

Before dessert, a team of fire-dancers from one of the neighbouring village performed several traditional dances with fire torches for our guests... a truly unique cultural experience. "We've seen many fire dances before here in Fiji and around the South Pacific, but never have we seen such amazing acrobatics. That was incredible..." mentioned one of our return guests.

After dinner, the Turtle Family joined our guests to dance and sing on the beach long into the night. "It was the combination of the Fijian warrior fire dancers, the setting, and the band that rocked into the early hours of the morning that really made this the perfect end to an incredible week. We can't wait to come back for your 36th!"
